Mission and History
Established in 1908, the Christamore House Guild is a non-profit organization of over 300 active and associate members committed to voluntarism and fundraising in support of the Christamore House Family and Community Center and the Frances Carter Coburn Scholarship.
Founded in 1905 by two Butler University students, the mission of the Christamore House is to provide the very best early childhood education, after-school programming, senior citizen services, preventative services and employment assistance to the residents of Haughville and the near Westside of Indianapolis.
The Guild sponsors the Frances Carter Coburn Scholarship, which is awarded annually to students from the Christamore House community seeking higher education. Since 1981, the Frances Carter Coburn Scholarship has benefited over 1000 recipients and awarded nearly $2 million.
